Before you start

Get your essentials ready

A hairbrush, a sturdy elastic band, a mirror and a few hair clips. Get your ponytail ready and carefully loosen the attachment.

Start with a neat base

Make sure your own hair is dry and neatly pulled back. First choose where you want to wear the tail: high for a striking look, lower for a calm look.

Understand the attachment

See how the base and drawstring work in the tutorial. Make room in the opening before placing the ponytail over your own ponytail or bun.

This is how you attach your ponytail

Watch the full demonstration first. Pause where necessary, then follow the six steps below.

Mermaid · #1B Black — how to attach her

  1. Make your own ponytail or small bun

Brush your hair back and secure it with a sturdy elastic band. For longer hair, you can twist the tail into a compact bun so that your own hair fits under the ponytail.

  2. Place the ponytail over your base

Open the base with the drawstring and place it over your own ponytail or bun. Make sure the attachment completely covers the base of your own hair.

  3. Secure the combs

Gently slide the combs into your own hair at the base, as shown in the video. Hold the ponytail in place with one hand. The combs should have a grip without pulling on your scalp.

  4. Pull the cord carefully

Pull the drawstring gently until the base fits. Check in the mirror whether the ponytail is straight and secure. Does it feel too tight? Loosen the cord slightly and replace the base.

  5. Hide the attachment

Tuck the cord under the base. Do you want an extra neat finish? Wrap a small section of hair around the attachment and secure it with a hair clip.

  6. Check and style your look

Move your head gently to check the attachment. Divide the waves with your fingers and lay the ponytail the way you want to wear it. Do not pull hard on the fibers or attachment.

A beautiful look, even after today

Comfort comes first

A strong ponytail does not have to pull tight. If you feel tension, loosen it and reattach it. Extra grip starts with a good tail, not with pulling harder on the cord.

Remove gently

First loosen any hair clips and the wrapped section. Relax the drawstring, carefully remove the combs from your own hair and lift the ponytail from the base.

Keep beautiful after wearing

Gently loosen tangles from the ends and work upwards. Treat the Mermaid waves gently and store the ponytail dry. Do not use heat unless the product instructions specifically allow it.

Another question?

Need help? We are happy to advise you on the attachment or your shade.

Ask us for advice ↗
Can I wear the ponytail high or low?

Yes, the position of your own tail determines where the ponytail falls. First create a sturdy base at the desired height and check whether it fits comfortably.

My ponytail slides. What can I do?

Check that your own ponytail is secure and the base fully covers your hair. Reposition the combs and gently tighten the drawstring. Still slipping? Send us a photo of the attachment for personal advice.

What if my own hair remains visible?

Try twisting your own tail into a smaller, compact bun. Place the base completely over it and also check the back in a mirror.

Does this also work with shorter hair?

Your own hair should be long enough to create a strong ponytail or small bun for the attachment to grip. Are you in doubt? Contact us and send a photo and we will think along with you.

Can I sleep or shower with this?

Remove the ponytail before sleeping or showering. This way you prevent unnecessary tension on your own hair and tangles in the fibers.

How do I find the right color?

Compare the color with the lengths of your own hair in daylight. View our color guide or request personal color advice via the contact page.
